On the very rare occasion we go to a customer’s home and we leave a quote because they aren’t ready, or they need to think about it, or believe it or not, we’re the 1st and they have to get 3 quotes. That is going to happen.
My follow up recommendations are as simple as 1, 2, 3 …
FIRST: Make sure we have 3 very important pieces of information. Cell phone number, email & their permission to just “touch base” in a day or three or a week.
SECOND: Have a system, however simple to keep this information.
THIRD: SCHEDULE 15 minutes per day to do our follow ups. Whether we call, text or email – JUST DO IT.
NOW: Text or email them a Thank You for the meeting same day, then follow up with a call in the time frame we agreed on in the original meeting.
If we don’t care enough to follow up, then why should our customers? ~ Dan Thompson
