AA’s (Attitude Adjusters): Todays Kudos & Encouragement (Weds 6-17-15)

Good Morning AA’s (Attitude Adjusters),

Anybody care to guess how many times we have to “adjust” our attitudes throughout the day. Bring them back in line with who we want to be? Some days it feels like a never ending battle. Other days it is a bit easier. Me & Paul’s hopes and prayers for us today is that we don't use foul or abusive language. We let everything we say be good and helpful, so that our words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

We Let Go of Mistakes
EQ people distance ourselves from our mistakes, but do so without forgetting them. By keeping our mistakes at a safe distance, yet still handy enough to refer to, we are able to adapt and adjust for future success. It takes refined self-awareness to walk this tightrope between dwelling and remembering. Dwelling too long on our mistakes makes us anxious and gun shy, while forgetting about them completely makes us bound to repeat them. The key to balance lies in our ability to transform failures into nuggets of improvement. This creates the tendency to get right back up every time we fall down.

We Know How to Say No (to Ourselves and Others)
Emotional intelligence means knowing how to exert self-control. We delay gratification, and we avoid impulsive action. Research conducted at the University of California, San Francisco, shows that the more difficulty that we have saying no, the more likely we are to experience stress, burnout, and even depression. Saying no is indeed a major self-control challenge for many people. “No” is a powerful word that we should not be afraid to wield.  Although I am always looking for the YES throughout the sales appointment, there is a way to stay positive while using our occasional NO.

In Jake Ryan’s “7 Rules of a Successful Sales Person/Career” one of his key points is, Avoid Water Cooler Meetings. He says, “Energy breeds Energy.” This is one way all of us EQ’s can grow our business to new heights.   Surround ourselves with positivity.  It is easy to stand around the water cooler and then become negative.  Don’t buy into it and don’t listen to the negative people.  Rest in the truth that we are all absolutely AWESOME individuals and teammates.
